On the Saturday morning of the 25th October we had our Autumn Event which was to raise awareness about the Friends of Palewell Common, hopefully get a few more members to join and to provide some fun to local residents.

We seem to have succeeded on all counts.

The half price hot dogs provided by Pistachios went down well as multiple children between football changeovers scooted off to the field edges to find planted false mushrooms on the treasure hunt.

They returned to get their culinary treat be it a chocolate bar or one of the beautifully baked themed fairy cakes donated by the wife of David who is Chairman of The Friends.

A deer had been created out of felt on a board for children to stick the antlers on to which seemed apt during rutting season.

Many hands dipped in to the pocket money prize tub to get their toy to prove aiming success.

Plenty of people came up to say hello and find out what we do which was lovely to see and experience.

Our wonderful £25 dog grooming voucher donated by Dog Town was won as was the Free family ticket to the Wetlands Centre.

We topped our number of members joining from previous events, so all in all we would say a successfull event.

Thank you to all that swung by.

If you wish to join up please take a look at our membership page on the Friends website which you will find here: The Friends Membership Form
